Today is July 14th, Bastille Day, the day that the mentally ill chose to represent their struggles against physical and mental abuse and neglect,  incarceration, excessive medicating, disrespect, loss of dignity, pride, and other "treatments." This fight has gone on for centuries.

On Bastille Day, in France, prisoners were set free, some of whom were mentally ill. This was the beginning of the French Revolution.

It is highly difficult for people to fight maltreatment and abuse while they are struggling with terrible disease, psychiatric illnesses that are poorly understood. It probably won't be until far into the future, when genetic engineering becomes so advanced that a cure can be found.

Pls recognize us on this day. Do something or write something to show your  sympathy and alliance. If you've ever been in a psychiatric hospital, you are probably at least somewhat aware of the problems these people face. So much is going on behind closed doors. Oppressors get away with too much. We have committed no crime and don't deserve abuse. I urge you to join the battle.
