Sad news today. Beajoux passed away last night. She was almost four, and showed no signs of sickness. We believe that it was from natural causes as the other two in her trio seem to be healthy.
For the most part, it is very hard to tell if something is wrong with a guinea pig. To top it off, Beajoux was an extra stubborn piggie. She begged for her food last night just like any other.
Beajoux came to us with Ginny from someone who was going through rigorous cancer treatments, and so, at first, we were fostering them.
After several months, they went back to her, but then her cancer came back and they returned to us. We were very happy to get them back. They're both very lovable, and Ginny is always doing a Ray Charles impersonation since she's blind. She's really just sniffing the air.
I'm really glad that we introduced Murphy to them as Ginny is not showing any signs of depression so far. Guinea pigs have been known to give up simply because their friend died. We'll still be keeping a close eye on her.
