Hi Everyone:
I want to thank Joe Hoffman and everyone at Lift Bridge Book Shop in Brockport for hosting a book reading/signing for Chimney Bluffs on November 7; thanks as well to those of you who were able to attend. I’ve written four novels and Lift Bridge has graciously hosted a kick - off reading for each one of them.
On Monday November 12 (6.30pm), I will be back at Lift Bridge (45 Main St, Brockport) for their annual Book Club Book Bash. I am honored to be invited, along with two other writers and a book representative from MacMillan, to present at this event. I will be doing a short reading from Chimney Bluffs, though all of my books will be on display. If you didn’t have a chance to attend the reading last week, you may want to come on Monday. It’s a great event.
One of the things I wanted to do when Chimney Bluffs was released was a reading somewhere near Chimney Bluffs State Park. Turns out that the Wolcott Public Library is as close as you can get, so, thanks to Dottie Patt, head librarian, I will be doing a reading there on Wednesday November 14 at 6.30pm. This reading will include a little more on the research I did about Chimney Bluffs and why I chose that location as the setting for this novel.
On Saturday December 1 (10am) I will be at the Ellwood City Public Library, in Ellwood City, Pa., my hometown, to do another reading. Of course, I always enjoy these trips back home. My last novel, Charlie No Face, was set in Ellwood.
Then on Saturday December 8 (10am) I will be doing a little different presentation. This will be for the Genesee Valley Chapter of the NY Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (GVCNYAMFT) at Brueggers on Mt. Hope Blvd. There I will be discussing the role that being a marriage and family therapist has played in my fiction writing. I will focus on similarities between writing fiction and doing marriage and family therapy. That should be fun.
I continue to plow ahead with my next project, More More Time, and have passed the 170 page mark. I feel like I am at a turning point in the story right now, so the going is a little more difficult. I’ll keep you posted.
