1. EDITORIAL:

Hello and welcome back everyone! I hope this finds you all happy and healthy. Thanks to everyone who read and commented on my writes at Authors Den. I really appreciate it. In this week’s Web sites for Writers I’ve added the listing for Sell Writing Online’s contest. Check out the details and send in your best story related to Christmas. You get the spotlight for a month and some money as well. It’s not a great financial reward and certainly any winning story is worth much more, but I hope to be able to increase that further down the road. Just stay with the guidelines and have some fun with it!

I’ve set a deadline to have Sell Writing Online launched by month’s end and if all goes smoothly it should be done. There have been great leaps and bounds made recently and I have been burning the midnight oil. Once everything settles into a routine I should be able to devote more time to my writing as well. I’ve got a few ideas simmering on the back burner and patiently awaiting my focus. Going through the various Web sites looking for writes always inspires me. This week congratulations goes out to Rose Moss who submitted a story to Whispers from Heaven, a site I shared in this newsletter. A well deserved reward for your determination and never losing the faith. May you all find the same. Happy reading and writing everyone!

Today in history:
October 24, 1929 - Black Thursday got its name when Wall Street investors panicked and ordered their stock brokers to sell all their shares. Nearly 13 million shares traded hands, sending stock prices plummeting. By late afternoon, many stocks recovered, but the stage was set for the stock market crash on October 29th, which would start the Great Depression.
