MOVING THE PACK...

"Thank you, Carla HighEagle for bringing the wolves home. Your prints will be forever cast in the kind soil of Nez Perce heritage," the note read, signed by Stone Creek Woman.

Carla HighEagle helped to relocate the Sawtooth Wolves to Nez Perce land after they had been studied in captivity for six years.

Stone Creek Woman felt it was crucial for the private sector, like herself, to manage and move packs of battered women to fertile mental and physical lands of the battered woman's choosing, as safe houses and shelters are only temporary grounds.

Managed battered women can pass along their knowledge about the rhythms of nature to other battered women, providing them with a well-rounded view of the wilderness, teaching them how to understand healing through nature's challenges.

Stone Creek Woman typified herself to be a new breed of wilderness guide. Not one to find the best fishing hole or hunting spot, but one who offered battered women a spiritual trek across lands of many cultures, and had the self-taught wisdom to prescribe outdoor medicine.

Emotions ran high on this last evening. Time was spent very wisely. There were telephone numbers to exchange in remembrance of Stone Creek Woman's analogy, "It is up to the pinion jay where it is going to fly next, but there is no reason not to observe its flight."

Brought here by their own doing, these women were well on their way to moving through their emotional tangles. To be able to see Stone Creek Women, CopperJade, Jude, and Blue Corn Woman healed by Earth Wisdom was sincere proof of how the tonic of nature can break the fall of not only battered women, but any woman who is instinct-injured...
