MOVING THE PACK...CONTINUED (Instinct-injured)

How does one know if she is instinct-injured? When she is ashamed to use self-expression to heal the wound. When she cannot interest herself with the work of invention. When her mind's eye develops a 'photographic cataract,' a dark cloud over the lens of her soul, causing her viewfinder to only focus on muddy waters. When her senses cannot remember how "it" smells, tastes, feels, sounds, and looks. When she neglects to collect wisdom when she already has the basket to store it in. When she passes over the birthright of womankind. When she cannot speak fluently of earth, air, fire, water, and the female spirit, When she cannot raise her "children," because she caves in to the devil, who appears in many forms, whether her "children" are her biological offspring, or her "creative fetuses," spawned, born, and poorly nurtured, or unborn and a product of thought stagnation.

Whatever the reason is for injured instinct, it is corrosive on both the mind and the spirit. Stone Creek Woman's philosophical approach to injured instinct is that one has to go through discomfort of body and mind for some lasting good.

Wolves would never allow this disease of injured instinct to poison their pack. A capture of this sort is just not acceptable in any phase of wolf government.
The true "call of the wild" fills the air with the "family" questions, which are timely addressed, and answered without delay by a chorus of songs with many meanings. "Are you in danger?" "Watch out for the predator!" "Guard the cub children!" "Mark your territory!" "Get to shelter!" "Don't pad into enemy territory!" "Let's eat!" "Let's play!" "Let's sleep!" "Full moon!" "Move the pack!" "Who the hell is Little Red Riding Hood?" "Damn the humans and their hurtful myths!" Communication is a necessity for wolf survival and they speak the language of loyalty because their lives depend upon it. Have you ever not seen a wolf living in captivity look you directly in the eye, and salute you in respect with its tail? If you have and didn't recognize it as a gesture of friendship, then you are most certainly instinct-injured.

Like any wound, injured instinct can be repaired by carefully decontaminating the gash, and lacing one's fragmented intuition back into whole instinct with stitches sewn from nature's medicine cord of many colors and varieties...CONTINUED NEXT MONTH, MOVING THE PACK...(HUMMINGBIRD MEDICINE)Injured-instinct.
