From the desk of Sage Sweetwater wishing you a very prosperous New Year 2007.
I am highly honored and proud to be associated with all of your names. What's in a name? I'll tell you what's in a name: In 1852, Texas surveyors discovered covers on some bushes. A Native American family had left them there to dry---never suspecting they were naming the town of Blanket. It's one of the warmest towns around.
Dear fans, your names are all warm to me. I kindly forward my appreciation to you all for supporting Sage Sweetwater Creative Properties this past year and I look forward to keeping my readers well-read into the year 2007. I love you all. Have a warm Pork and Apple supper.
1-1/2 pounds boneless pork, cubed 1 tablespoon canola oil 4 cups water 1 tablespoon chicken bouillon granules 1 teaspoon dried thyme 1/4 teaspoon pepper 1 bay leaf 10 to 12 small red potatoes (about 2 pounds), quartered 4 medium tart apples, peeled and cut into wedges 2 tablespoons cornstarch 2 tablespoons cold water
In a Dutch oven, brown pork in oil. Add water, bouillon, thyme, pepper, and bay leaf; bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 1-1/2 to 2 hours or until pork is almost tender. Add potatoes; cover and cook for 15 minutes Add apples. Cook and cover for 10 minutes until crisp. Discard bay leaf. Combine cornstarch and cold water until smooth; stir in pork mixture. Bring to a boil; cook and stir for 2 minutes until thickened. Serves 6-8. This recipe is popular here in Colorado near where I live in high country Colorado where the apple orchards thrive...Blessed Be.
Until we meet again, be well, be warm. I love you all!
Warmly,
