Drawn from the pits and tossed from the light
a winged creature steadfast takes flight.
A pen-like sword with ten times the soul
the mighty muse comes forth to write the scroll.
Come all, come all the words are great!

This newsletter was a long time in creation. Actually... procrastination. It is finally out. I hope to keep those interested up to date on my events, music and misc. info. Newsletter Dated: 5/31/2004 6:45:07 AMSubject: Poetry Newsletter: Lori Maynard Hello all subcribers and happy Memorial Day 5-31-04
It is a time to reflect on the ghosts of war... to remember a great grandfather's tale of the Great War... to think of a classmate who had just recently entered the perils of war... Memorial Day is more than time off of work, the Indy 500, cookouts and beer. -------------------------------------------------------
Once more, it has been a while since I have sent out my last newsletter.
My song "Time has its Moments" is recorded and posted to my Author's Den site. The song is sung by Pam Bryan and the piano is played by Bernice Wilson.
In addition, my first book of poetry has been sent to the publisher nearly two weeks ago. This is a project that I have been wanting to complete since I was 14 years old. Hopefully, this book will be published by year's end. It will be made available for sale on line.
I am finally seeking a college education. I started my first class last week and will be following my interest in engineering.
Severe weather moved through my area yesterday producing quite a few tornadoes. My neighborhood is OK.
A few new poems have been added to my Author's Den site as well. The newest being a collaboration poem between myself and fellow Author's Den poet, Peter Paton, entitled "The One"
