We have had a wild 2020 so far. But staying home more has turned me back to the basics; doing a little writing, tending my small herb garden, and experimenting with cooking. It is on the verge of fall as I write this, and it is harvest time.

Spending time in the kitchen is a good way to focus on something positive and keep those creative juices flowing. Just yesterday I made Basil oil...to be used in dressings, pizzas, pasta and sauce recipes. The spicy basil scent lingers in the kitchen.

Just pick some basil and carefully wash and dry. Strip the leaves, stuff them into a mason jar and pour olive oil over it. Set for a good two weeks, strain, label and enjoy all year long!
