No time to mourn, not even just a moment…
No time for shock … no time for grief…
Time keeps rolling like the waves that crash upon the barnacle
laced slime on the crushing rocks of the Atlantic..
… She can do it, she’s strong,
…. She can take it… she’s tough…
She’ll make it… she’s still here isn’t she?
Perhaps that is the sense of the ship on the sea..
A man falls in love, her captain… he steers her where he wants her to go. .. He depends on her for his livelihood….
He relies on her for his safety… he trusts her with his life
Then the day comes with she betrays him… she doesn’t turn
when he commands… she lists as though she’s a timid horse afraid of a
fluttering bird along side of the path…
She becomes tossed, she creaks..
She struggles…
She BREAKS….
Her mast snap like toothpicks under the pressure of her
bending… she doesn’t bend that way.. its not how she was made…
Her haul, her very belly fills with water from the cracks
and splinters caused by one wrong move .. just one wrong move….
Her cries and groans echo through the night air.. the
lighthouse far in the distance, unmanned of course…
His knuckles white… he squeezes tight…
She’s letting him down… in her care he will drown…
He thinks of the years she was faithful, the storms she
took, the way she looked…
In her day she was the queen of diamonds,
Not a scratch could be found, she was broke in on ground…
Now her age is showing, from the years of travel, over and
over she beat the waves, over came the rage… of the unforgiving seas…
Today she failed..
He’s sinking fast,
Its her time to glory in a former story.. to be written on
stone about the sailor alone…
Who mastered her for 10 years, but like all our worst
fears..
She broke underneath time.. no time.. none is left…
