Beautiful is the sun that radiates against the green grass

Or the trees that shelter the brightly colored blooms.

It is the gentle breeze that blows against the reeds.

It is the warm air that encourages the birds to sing.

Beautiful is the song of spring that’s held in the heart.

It is the sound of children laughing.

It is the sound of a long earned sigh.

It is the feel of a job well done.

Beautiful is the smell of a rose

Or the touch of a lamb’s ear.

It is the aroma of barbeque in the air.

It is the first taste of sweet summer.

Beautiful is the sight I see in your eyes.

It is the brown that warms my heart.

It is the smile that you have for me when we’ve been apart.

Beautiful is you…

And beautiful if this!! So simply and touchingly related, but refreshing in so doing. Almost like the pure statement of marriage vows, somehow. You have taken eternal joys and made them personal in this lovely poem, Mary. Thank you. Kate xx

Mary, beautiful seems to touch many of our hearts in the same way. It is a built in sense of beauty we carry in our inners selfs. Much the way that ugly is carried. Beautiful is also a journey which all
of us travel; for it may change in many areas as we go along. And ugly may become beautiful as we grow older and realized that beauty in humans is really only skin deep for the eyes. It exists on a much deeper level for all of us, and what was beautiful to me at eighteen is not the same beauty I see at seventy. Really nice poem dedicated to someone who I know deserves the beauty you see. Bill Murray

A warm fireside glow of a poem, very well painted.

That was absolutely lovely. I think you've captured everything which is good in life. It gives warm feelings.

Mary,
Love your poem. Although my allergies wouldn't agree with some of this (lol) spring is my favorite season. Your poem is filled with many wonderful visuals.

You brought the season together with sweet romance and it was an absolute delight this morning to wake up to and read.
