Darkness falls and the wind gently sweeps along my face.
I long for an escape as the desire swallows me whole.
Vaulting into realms unknown, passions beyond my reach;
I fall into the fallen.
Moments that do not belong in the reality of time
And memories that never truly existed in flesh
Cascade into the very depths of my soul
Where nothing is real nor meant to be.
A shadowy figure that’s brought into the light,
Love that’s made through an artificial night,
Caressing, expressing beyond touch and sight,
Ecstasy and belonging replaces the fight.
Cogito ergo sum becomes all that I am
As the world of manmade existence descends.
I brush away a wisp of hair and brace myself;
Falling deep into the fallen.
As Jelaleddin-i Rumi says:
"Falling the bird is given wings!"
