The dead of night

Swallowed by magic

Covered stars, endless fog

A place where time is no more

Until the battle is over

A brilliant flash of fire lights the way

Its source sends malice from his own heart

The haze parts, only to reveal the dread

Intent bolts forward, smiting the hand

And blocking the blast of hatred

Fury flies, burning the fog

Eating at the darkness

Both staffs hit the ground

Two wizards bow.

Very nice Mary, and it is really nice that your hubby reads your works too. May the Lord Jesus Bless you, and those whom you love, and be with you always, and at your sdie constantly. With much love in my heart, stubborn to a fault, joy to the world, peace on earth, & ((((((((((MANY WONDERFUL SISTERLY HUGGGGSSSS)))))))))), your little terrified den sister, Barbie

This is a very good piece of fantasy based verse. It is also a good analogy for a relationship in conflict. All in all, this is good.
