A year has come and gone since last I saw your smile.

A year spent as a rudderless ship floundering upon an uncharted sea.

Tossed about by waves of loneliness and desolation

Goalless and confused without you guiding love

Knowing not where I was going, or where I belonged.

Drifting lost even to myself

Unable to see through the gray mist of my grief to the sunshine or hope of a tomorrow

My only consolation that each day brought me closer to the death

That would one day reunite us.

Perhaps, tomorrow will be better.
