My Assurance

Oh God, your faithfulness is awesome.

All your promises to me you fulfilled.

Your word gives me comfort

and your grace gives me peace.

When my soul is weary you are my hiding place.

And when my heart is troubled you are my refuge.

I know I can turn my sorrows over to you

and you will change them to joy.

I know that the world cannot steal away my hope

because you are my fortress.

Your glory sings in my heart

and my mind is at ease.

No harm can come to me

because you are my protector

and my assurance.

I shall not want

because you are my abundance,

and the author of my salvation.

Your compassion for me is so great

that you hear my silent cries

and respond without pleas.

You, who are blameless,

accepted my blame and my punishment

that I might have eternal life.

In you I have courage.

By your love I have joy,

and with your grace I have forgiveness.

In you, Oh Lord,

I have all I need for now and eternity.
