She sits on the bed patiently waiting for me

Her blue eyes dancing with anticipation

Her posture tense and straight

Telling me to hurry

Her love for me is my salvation

I lay down next to her

And she stretches her sleek body out beside me

She moves closer and reaches out to touch me

I stroke her supple form

With tenderness reserved for her alone

Touching her give us both pleasure

Slowly all tension leaves her body

And she purrs in bliss

As she drifts of into kitty cat dreams

I can relate to this poem. Cats are much better companions than people. The tension releaser goes both ways. Great poem Bobbi. ~ Sara

Yes bobbi, and when you are felling lonely and sad, the sound of her purrs are enough to make you fell reassured that she will never abandon you. Thnx for sharing sis. I really love this one. May the Lord Jesus bless you, and those whom yo ulove, and be with you always, and at your side constantly. With much love in my heart, maybe too stubborn for my own good, joy tot he world, peace on earth, & ((((((((((MANY WONDERFUL SISTERLY HUGGGGSSSS)))))))))), your still very sad and very terrified little sister, Barbie

Cats and gals should be handled in a loving way as you have described. To catch one off guard is the essence of a good poet.

Somehow, I knew this was a cat before even finishing the poem. Either that, or a dog named "Lassie" that does cat impressions.
blessin's to you dearheart,
