Thank You, God
There is nothing I can say, Lord,
That will adequately express my thanks for this day.
The sun was shining when I opened my eyes,
Amara was lying on her pillow next to me,
Her beauty thrills my eyes
As her gentle purring fills my ears.
She is to me a true representation of You.
Not in looks, or sounds, but in love
Because like You, she loves me unconditionally.
Her love is not based on what I do for her;
But on my sheer existence.
She loves me because I am.
When I cry out in pain,
She scurries from whatever place she’s hiding in
Coming to my side purring to comfort me
Yes. Lord, My God, Amara is your gift to me,
A symbol and expression of your love,
Who just happens to wear a gray fur coat.
