The Blues came to visit me
It caressed and embraced me
Then seeped deep down inside me
Saturating me completely

It wrapped itself around my heart
Gripped it hard
Then squeezed it painfully
Repeatedly

It drained all vestige of joy away
Drew shades against my light of day
Made itself oh so comfortable
Made me so damned miserable

It sang moaning, groaning songs
All the days and nights long
It totally imprisoned me
Within painful memory

It wrecked havoc with my mind
Stabbed me many, many times
Bled my body of vital hue
Infused me with its funky blue

The Blues came to visit me
Seducing me completely
Pulling me down, down, down
(Sigh) ... Hell bound

Until....

Oh the terror of those funky funky blues. But poets come out on top when they squeeze out of all the unrelenting sorrow lines as powerfully moody and beautifully absorbing as these:-)

Lololol! This is so great, Gwen! How despondency can seduce, entice, tempt a person and convince one to stay down, glummy and blue. Lol! What a strong grip it has!

Very captivating indeed!

God bless,

Sandie.

Hey..THIS is so ON! WE have all been there ..you have nailed it Gwen..down to a T! Incredibly accurate potrayal of the feeling. Funny how it suddenly ends only to find us bewildered as to it's conception.
Exceptional write..love it!

Gwen,

A powerfully emotive, painful write to read. So that's where they went off to...have been feeling them as of late. Wondered where they'd been...

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.
