When Will I Get to Hug You?

When will I get to hug you
I know you've been through a lot
I cannot send you money
so a hug is all I've got

The value of human contact
through that warming hug embrace
can trigger deep emotions
and reflect upon ones face

It's more than just a gesture
if it's done with deep respect
It's a form of conversation
an exchange one can't forget

It's a message beyond words
gentle warm and snug
When there are things
you cannot say out loud
you can say them with a hug

When will I get to hug you
It seems I have a lot to say
but my arms aren't really long enough
and you're so far away

Perhaps one day I'll meet you
and we'll be face to face
then without words and eye to eye
we exchange that hug embrace.
