My pain is too much for "friends" to bear,
But to me it just feels like they don't care.

This poem is about me.

Still Alive

by The Poetess (SRP)

Her heart is wrapped in pain as she runs from stalkers
And pleas for help from those who can not care –

Her "friends" from long ago. And this is how it goes. . .

Her: Please meet me. I need your smile.

Come sit with me and talk a while?

Friend: I really prefer to be left alone
And only have a moment by phone.

Her: Please help me I can't handle anymore

My life feels locked behind a door!

Friend: Your pain disturbs me.

Call me after it is free.

Her: I'm being stalked and harmed
I really need a lucky charm.

Friend: Come see me if things work out

And your still up and walking about.

Now, God is her only friend -
Heaven is where she gets a hand.

And this is the reason why

Her body is. . .still alive.

Yes it is hard to really stand by someone when they are in so much pain, its easier to stay away only the person in pain cannot escape it. Thankyou for writing such a heartfelt poem. God bless. Baz

Know that you are "Still Alive" for a reason. God knows and feels your pain. He is the friend that will never leave you and will always listen. In the end he is probably the only true friend any of us has when the chips are down. I'm glad he's yours and mine. My prayer is that he will grant you what you most need in life.

How true it is that you find out who your real friends are when hardships befall you. I can relate, Poetess. Love, peace, and best wishes to you,

Regis

Heaven is a last resort, but the ultimate resort. I'm glad her body is still alive.

I agree one writes of pain for release. Unfortunately many who review have never experienced those so called tough breaks in life. Life is not always roses, but thorns too. I am glad you are back here.

GOD BLESS YOU
TONY

Answer to below comments: It is non fiction. One writes about anguish because it is a great way to release the pain as it has been since man/woman could lift a pen. Life is a process of growing and healing. We feel Love and joy only as deeply as we allow ourselves to feel our pain. The problem is that too many turn away from the pain in others because they can't face their own and we can't heal what we don't feel. . .

Dear Poetess, I don't believe that this is a fiction as Ronald hopes that it would be just a fiction. Why should one write about anguish, when life is a present that we should enjoy? Or maybe you write about someone you know. May God help those who need is help.

Beautiful and haunting at the same time. Well done.

There is something disturbing here. I hope this is just fiction.
