Sometimes I’m prolific
Sometimes I’m demure
Sometimes it’ll do the trick
Sometimes I’m not sure

Writings sometimes easy
Writings sometimes hard
Writings sometimes cheesy
Give an inch and take a yard

Sometimes I get writers block
Sometimes it flows like a stream
Sometimes plots I’ve got in stock
Sometimes they come in a dream

Whichever way you do it
Whichever way you try
Sometimes it’s a gambit
And we’ll never know why

Words appear in our heads
And flow through to our fingers
Whoever makes it carefully treads
To make the message linger

Ask yourself if you know why
Is there rhyme or reason
Writing we will always try
All year through any season
