who know the sound,
of death,
collapsing in its final
heap,
yes, resting against the ribcage,
and doorstep of their heart,
yes few
Few there be among us,
who have heard the final sound
of fall, yes few
few there be standing,
have heard the last sigh,
as the essence of soul
retreats, yes few
the sound is a hush, yet
resembles a sigh,
diminutive and subtle
yet distinguished in time
yet....
few heard her fall,
as she collapsed in
Humpty Dumpty
fashion and form
yes few
and few knew her name
when she knocked upon
yesterdays door
yes few....
