Dare I brave pen
in bright of day
whilst the rest
yet do play
I durst not
for shall not upon
the first ink to bleed
the sun discover
my unveiled
and naked heart
I shall await the night
to hover under her
canopy steeped in obscure
dare I pen In day
I trow not
lest the world
become awakened to
my simple heart
so sad and beyond
I shall revoke
the day
'tis what I'll do
and call it night
had only I
the kings
breastplate and name
yet my quill burns
as a fire of bone
both inward and deep
as the parchment
laments and moans
yet lite doth color me
in such mope
like twill
I'd rather brave the rain
battle ten men
wage a war all
my own
I'd rather yes do
than pen by the sun
she flatters me not
water mirroring my age
as a magnified focus
she doth breath upon
my veneer
the night shines no bright
by which others can see
my burrow so buried
that night
knows well
not
to unsheathe
yet the day sun
so invasive
no safe place to stay
my pen doth burn hot
bemoaning my plight
whilst the day lite so daunting
my hand shakes and quakes
I dare not dismiss her
my quill flamed
and hot
for I did once in time
forsook me she did
I circled for years
hanging from
vanities tree
My quill restlessly stirring
seething boiling my blood
I care not they know me
my passage is plain
I stand as a coward
with brave quill in hand
lite be gentle
for night to
far displaced
and my quill burning in passion
not easily erased
so in trepidation
and quaking
I jot ink
splashed in scene
whispering inside me
lite
pray be kind

I was lamenting being away from the site for an extended period until I ventured to your page, now I see my reward is a night of enjoyment ensconced in the brilliance of your words. Mal.
Rodney, how well you describe my plight. It used to be that I could only write by night, and still wish to, but age, and lite???? Well...... you know..... -Bear
If you tend to believe romantic, passionate, masculine poetry is a thing of past eras, read "She Intrigues Me," and be swept away in the beautiful craft of a contemporary poet of love.
