'Twas the high road I reached for
Likened unto a child outstretched
And reaching for a cloud
Roamed many stone clay road
Pinnacle and lowly, been found weeping at both.
High road, high plane
Moral high ground hard sought
Yet ridicule and envy remained only my lot
I outstretched sought after and reached for yea much
Yet stooped in dismay, my hand holds little this day
High road I found it
Fell off it at dawn
Yet touched it and tasted it, like fine wine drawn
I stood as a king on top the high ground
Fell off it as quickly as night turned dawn
'Twas the high road I aimed for
With blazed arrow of heart
Reached sky high with all my might!
Yet at dawn I was withdrawn
My rearward vanished, my heart unspun
High road I knew her
Caught her riding upon sky
Yet saddle did loose me, first sight of dawn
My road now ends quickly, as it just turns ahead
Round the bend, lies the high road, yes, just up ahead.
You've a unique voice fellow bard. A crispness to your words...that seduces me to take a bite again and again..Write on Rodney...your words be your wings....thanking you, Dani

If you tend to believe romantic, passionate, masculine poetry is a thing of past eras, read "She Intrigues Me," and be swept away in the beautiful craft of a contemporary poet of love.
You are a wonderful poet,
