Go where you heart leads you, record what you see
Shouted the bard from atop a big tree
His words cast as thunder, a thousand voices at once
The air now so thickened by the voice raised in triumph
Go where you heart leads, record what you see
The townspeople gathered round the bard in the tree
For the magic, no denying, what they did see
For they heard words, nay never heard,
As they fell, illumined from tree
Robe waving in wind whilst a wedged in the tree
He bellowed as a herald his proclamation untold
To go where your heart leads then pen where you roamed
Whether sealed caverns of dark breath, or meadows of Rome
Go where the heart leads, record what you see
For the magic is opened when pen etches tree
Some came from afar in the village all around
As they heard tale of known bard yea hailing his realm
The day now the second, not one soul had slept
As a fresh breeze of healing did sweep as wet breath
Balm sprinkled in words did the bard yes dispense
As the tale grew taller and his fame yes did spread
Third day now a standing, the bard in the tree
The air now much thicker, must suck high and free
Sword glimmering robe blowing, words riding from tree
Third day, yet the bard took no water, bread nor wine,
He shouted out the same plea as day one two three
His voice now whispering the same magic robed plea
Go where your heart leads you, record what you see
Then freedom shall befall you, and you'll know even me
Stand tall, break ranks nay, requite yourselves as men
Go where she leads you, record what you see
The song went for third day, strong into the night
Till the whisper was silent no glint left of eye
He climbed up a warrior, mighty ancient of old
His calling now left him gray, tattered and old
Day of fourth morning he shimmied down tree
The people aghast, hiding eyes not to see
For the magic that swept in three day array
Now ended in horror, as the mystery unfold
He climbed up a warrior, tall strong bright and bold
He climbed down the fourth day a horror untold
For young bard of splendor just four days afore
Now descended in empty, his bowl turned inside out to earthen floor
No Samaritan escorted him as he shuffled out town gate
Yet into the next days they met yea their fate
Passed now seven hundred year, exactly to date
On the night winds of sunset the whisper still breaths
Go where your heart leads you, record what you see
Then freedom shall befall you,
And you'll know even me

One of the most eloquently expressed verses I have ever had the priviledge to read. You write with very sweeping fluidity. I do adore the majesty you displayed.
Each person is but a grain of sand resting beside the sea. This thought sets the tone for Jill Eisnaugle’s latest poetry collection, Beside Still Waters.
