What Awaits Me In Night

What is it I see, lassies dancing, dirt jamboree
quiet emotions churn inside me, as I recall the good
And the rest of the spree, I lived as man,
Ill die as one too, I've seen shadows dancing, upon sunsets gleam.
What is it I see when I look into today, what is it I see coming for me

Born of woman sculpted in clay earthen flesh I be
Yet across the horizon, something waits for me
A gift few would applaud, perhaps is waiting for me
I have now for some time, heard the knocking on door
Yes, I hear knocking... upon my door

I've kissed many a girl, had many tumbles in the hay
Yet, yes yet, well...too much to say...
I battled dragons and slew them, the kind that slay most men
But my time was not yet announced amidst the living walking dead
I have fought armies, hordes of demons at hand,
Slew them as the dragon, sword in left hand

As I peer deep into this days core, what do I see, awaiting me
Secrets that never get told in time, my lot my failures, over a lifetime
The secrets we hide all the years of our life,
The secrets meant to be birthed in the lite.
When I look well to this day what do I see, awaiting for me

Chariots of thunder mighty angels arrayed,
As fire storming chariots descend unto me
Nay, to turn my head to change the course yet,
What I see this day is... well too much to say
What damnt, awaits me the end of this day?

Firestorm around me, like never imagined
Drunk in the spirit of magic unknown
What is this, I know not, new terrain, I've not walked
Where's the crutch to help me stand tall
In these moments of truth that overshadow all

I have known a few girls, more than that I'd say, yet
Yes, yet....well too much to say, tears fall in remembrance
Yes, of what was, but now this new door, well, no words
No rhyme, no sparkle no shine, when I see the morrow
Upon the wings doth fly, that, that awaits me high in the sky

I lived best I could, I'd like to state that,
I enjoy bunnies, and hamsters, and everything like that
I eat only vegetables, causing others not to cry die
Yes, I'd like the record to show that
To show yet this, that I once, loved in time....

You Look FatCalgary by RickthePoetWarrior

Using Calgary as a backdrop the author satirizes the self-serving nature of the public as it continues to fatten itself, not only physically, but egotistically as well.
