Mexico Beach South

Many would stand awatch and view them from afar daily
They would gather on the hills round about the sea
And watch them frolic in play as otters do, some said she was an Indian Princess
Some said he was a warrior of old, yet none knew his name
Yet she was called many names of her people, but she was in fact Indian Princess Standing Tall

The village folk claimed they had a canopy of magic about them
There laughter could be heard whistling for miles all around
They would leave all breathless, as they swam naked together in the sun bathed sea each day as
they would consummate there pledge of heart, to never part
They cared not, the world stood in watch, for their hearts were unveiled as well

They could not hide if they tried, for their fame was lightning wide spread
For they lit a fire in heart, no man could douse, yet there secret unknown
Some said it was magic, some said merely old fashioned country love
Yet all knew it sprang from above in the skies bright pristine and spread in blue love
All knew their cloud of life love exhaled, all would await each breath they released

Some went away healed after inhaling their life, exhaled from them
Some began weeping, as when a new infant is born well
Some fell back startled by the intense lite shone
That enveloped each movement of them dancing in song
They were thunder and lightning alive mixed in their embrace long

Some say they can swim under sea, for often they melt into sea not seen
Most believe, and so story goes, it is these times he kisses her, melts her in loves pose
Story goes they drift often underwater for days, making love underneath the ocean in sway
Bright fire hot need to chase, the water the coolant to keep fresh her face
In the midst of hot passion erasing the seas cool

At sunset they walk the beach each night long
Leaving footsteps for others to step in next day come along
They say if you put your footprint in theirs
Love finds you the next day anytime, anywhere
For magic dust do they scatter in each love step they take make

The story an old one, been around seven hundred years
Though the lovers I speak of have not aged in years
Yea, the envy of all earth they are, each one and all, for none dwell in happiness as they do in fall
Nor summer when the hot sea breath does blow upon them in time
They say if you see them after stroke of midnight

That upon dawns waking sunlight on your pillow will light
The lover you saw last in your dreams of a lifes leaves
You will find them in this time, after midnight I'm told
Swinging from stars tails, a sight to behold, some say they
Can skip on them, skipping one to the other

If you see them upon this night, I will tell you their song
So you'll know that its your turn, to have your heart lite turned on
The song goes such as this, you emptied my soul of the darkness it wore
Cast it out to the ocean, never to see it once more
That's all the song their is I am told

They sing it each night, over again over again no end in sight
I have you now, I'll never let go, over again over again long into the night
Let me put my arms around you, over and over again tumbling into the night
They say its the prettiest song ever sung, these two lovers do sing, yes, grafted as one
You'll find them upon midnight this night flying high.

Indian Princess Standing tall, I call out in the night, here me cry, I am yours this night.........
