Thankful for the Christmas season, but not willing to leave our Savior in manger.

He is not a baby in a manger waiting to be fed. He is not a martyr on a cross, our Savior is not dead. For if we leave Him in the manger what power does he wield? If we leave Him on the cross how is our hope fulfilled? It is only by seeing the Risen King and His resurrection power that we can share in the hope to come that in that final hour when the trumpet blows and dead shall rise we will be in that great throng and we will kneel before our Lord and King as He assumes His throne.

Most of my poetry is not in rhyme, but it seems when I write a religious poem I almost always gravitate toward a rhyming scheme. Not sure why, but just seems to work out that way.
