This is a rework with a video reading - if the reading doesn't show up here - click the link. I'm trying some new things this year...

Poem Artwork

~a perfect orchid~

i picked an orchid
an anther... picked

searched its crevasse
turned it upside down.

tended its filaments
to view that pistil.

wooed and venerated
a savored bouquet.

drank in all the
carpel nectar.

purified its drink...
positioned it delicately

within my  ... well-etched
hand blown ... lead crystal vase

that buttercup had forgotten.

inflorescence aside,
calyx features discarded

amidst venerable petals,
it blossomed ... atop my lace doily.

later
....it turned color

later
...it crumpled

later
...if fell to pieces

Vivid capture...crisp and clear and with an almost sensual feel about it. Enjoyed.

...all beauty is ephemeral, Donna, and you handle the eternal theme with style and elegance...no mush or gush, the truth of it...and the detail very fine indeed.
