Jesus Was Innocent

 Jesus was the innocent Lamb of God who was slain

not for his own crimes but for mine he endured the pain

Jesus was not guilty but I was the one who sinned

yet on the cross where he died all my sins were pinned

 Jesus the innocent was brutally beaten and nailed to a tree

yet I was the guilty one, it should have been me

Jesus willingly took upon himself all my shame and blame

and saved me from my sins when I called on his name

Jesus paid the penalty for my crimes so I could go free

and not have to pay myself and go to Hell for eternity

Jesus was innocent and in Him no fault was found

yet because of the price he paid I now am Heaven bound

John 19:6 When the chief priests therefore and officers saw him, they cried out, saying Crucify him, crucify him. Pilate saith unto them, Take ye him, and crucify him: for I find no fault in him.
