Blood-thirsty thoughts compete
To be heard among the stench of
Temporary carnage
Chased by apparitions of the past…
Through mortal halls where the soul is silenced
Scratching at the walls from within.
Quickening the pace to catch up to my conscience
Deadening fatal screams envelop my whole being
From what depths do these horrid visions lurk?
Peripheral shadows overcast the senses…
Leering…piercing eyes penetrate the darker side
That of which I resist.
Conquering the temptation to succumb
To the fear that grips…
The paranoia that disturbs my inner voice
Alerting my instincts to flee before
The possession takes over.
Anxiety engulfs my mind
In a split second I am not myself
A severe darkness… blindness resides
Unable to cease the shudders…
The overwhelming physical pain
Suddenly a presence overcomes…
Ghastly breaths heave as life is drained.
