Excuse me…Allow me

Excuse me, pardon me, or please allow me; simple words of courtesy or propriety gone lost.

I guess I’m showing my age; I remember those times when these terms and courteousness were expected.

Rather than being the exceptions that are so commonplace today.

This loss of civility is a curious thing; when did showing the proper respect become so difficult to understand?

Then again, I guess they went the way of a properly pronounced word.

Excuse me if you would and allow me this little babble.

It’s an old habit of mine and is so very difficult to change.

But a proper hello and a meaningful goodbye are still proper and simple and still serve me well.

It’s a good thing I don’t mind showing my age.
