The ice is so thick here,
Right under my feet,
It makes me feel safe,
So don’t turn on the heat.
I’ve seen the flame,
While melting the ice,
The quicksand right under,
Caught me by surprise.
And wounded for life,
Was my love and desire,
For I’m a burned child,
Who once played with fire.

the feeling that we feel after falling out of love is very-well expressed in words.
Thank you for this short but telling more-than-words poem.
Good Luck
