Beneath The Silence

Dear heart I see you, both strong and afraid,


Carrying silence, where connection once laid,

Two backs turned, a lifetime apart,


But I feel the truth, that lives in your heart.

Inside you still, a child remains,


Longing for light, to loosen the chains,

So please remember, what once was known,


Before you lost faith, and walked all alone.

Your inner child meets mine, in a quiet embrace,


No shame, no fear, just loving that space,

No harsh words spoken, no need to defend,


Just two tender souls, who knows how to mend.

Can we once again, be brave enough to hear,


What hides beneath, all the masks we wear?

Your sorrow, is far from foreign to me, 


It's written in echoes, we've tried not to see.

It's still in there, what we forgot to feel,


That love so soft, so ready to heal.

So when I go quiet, and seem far away,


Know it’s the scared part, trying to stay.
