Let the morning zephyr carry me

to a day of sunshine and placid shadow;

Let me float above the harried crowds

in their rush through the busy streets below.

Let the sweet melody of birdsong

carry me within its chirruping reprise;

Envelope me in summer’s richness,

enrich me with golden warmth and jeweled sky.

Let the mountains be my companions

with their centuries of wisdom earned;

Sentinels of the ages for whom a lifetime

is but a breath, a heartbeat, a page turned.

Let the lakes be my silvered mirror

reflecting only the majesty of the moment;

Let the trees overtake my senses,

flooding me with green visions and earthy scent.

Oh, take away sadness from seasons past,

provide a summer of peace and tranquility;

and let the morning zephyr carry me

within, with God … back to me.
