He Is Lost to Me

This is an effort to touch on the emotions and hope involved in finding the true love I have yet to discover. Ah, but I am ever hopeful ...

My heart beats heavy with the knowing
that we are separated
by mist, by time, by circumstance.

I long for the connection of souls
that awaits us
beyond the veil of misdirection.

His face hides in mystery
but his spirit calls to me
as a long lost friend and lover.

Passion lingers out of reach
of hands that hunger
for that ardent union of souls and bodies.

He is lost to me.

Yet I refuse the course of resignation,
as I cling to the optimism
that is my strength.

He will be found
and the consummation
will be a conflagration of discovery.

This poem snaps open like a bamboo fan, like woodpeckers exploit the best of both worlds - foraging in Mother Earth, but living in the trees - Leysa - the woodpecker's beak is poorly suited for hammering marital hardwood - they choose rotted trees to chisel their homes - yet these uncanny birds' narrow beaks, with uncanny precision - nab ants! Thus a tail-flaring ritual mating dance - they may dance for days until mates sort themselves and settle territorial bondaries - when two finally either rediscover each other, and pair off, a tree branch makes a fine mating post - marital eviction can be swift for the unwitted - He Is Lost to Me - from an ecological point of view - and a marital point of view (heart) - passion is a keystone species - much coveted nest activity...optimistic rebirth...be well, Leysa...Blessed Be,

Warmly,

Sage

Intense yearning and strong longing as the hope and optimism still linger that it is not over till the end.
