A poem of remembrance

Lifetime after lifetime you and I

 searched for each other

And found each other

And hurt each other.  It  was part of the game, you see?

We thought we were still in the game.

And in the punishment, opposing goals were planted.

You love me then you hate me and I the same with you.

Very neat. We were always unhappy.

Then we do it again and again.

Different settings, different eras.

A never ending  cycle. Birth and death, always.

But now I remember them all.

Before Time Began

Before there were faces and bodies

There were only beings and space

Velues were nobility, justice and ethics

And there was beauty and perfection in every creation.

They would create worlds and throw away worlds, at will.

Games  was what they did. Like children.

They thought they needed it.

Yes, even the gods played games.

The magic universe was the most fun of all

They liked the lights, and music, and the shows,

Thunderbolts and lightnings at the stroke of a hand.

Hurling them at each other, catching them,

making them spin, changing the colors,  motion,

But they did not need hands…for

They created with pure thought

Oh..the most phenomenal delights…

Were also the most vicious traps.

In this enjoyment of beauty, of any form,

They were hypnotized  and caged.

And made to believe they  had lost a game and needed to be punished

And the punishment was “To forget”

And they took forms: Bodies.

And down the tube they  went

And here they ended up on earth

After eons.

But not all memory was lost so sometimes they remember,

it comes in dreams and visions and we dismiss them as fantasy, delusions.

But  were they, really? Are they really?

The promises we made to each other,

They too, were shackles.

So in this lifetime, I release you

Fully, completely, knowingly, and at will,

And lovingly

For I remembered in the magic world

you refused to leave me,

so you too were trapped,

the reason for our here and now.

That is what you remember, vaguely

When we were together, then, before time.

But this is a different lifetime altogether.

I have already paid for it, many times over, and if not,

I have no more tears left from the lifetimes

of hurts we have caused each other.

It is not our fault.  For even then without forms, before time began,

we have already loved each other.

You remember, I remember.

We can still love, but freely,  purely, as it was then.

Before time began.

You too, have a right to be free.
