Kind of self-explanatory...many of us have "been there/done that" I suppose!
It may have been many years ago,
But ‘til this day I’d still like to know:
Why it was so easy for you to leave -
Why every lie I could believe -
Why nothing helped the pain alone -
Why it was dark while the sun still shone -
Why you found it easy to start a new -
Why nobody erased the thought of you -
Why time stood still and pain persisted -
Why moving on I so resisted -
Why after almost twenty years -
The thought of you can still bring tears………

Aw, if it is any consolation, Pam, you at least knew that kind of love. I have also, but so many out there can't even fall back on their memories, bad or good, and find passion of that kind. Those are the truly sad people. A beautiful poem.
