Celebrating the birth of my fifth grandchild
New life, The infant born. Nine months of internal incubation Traded for a lifetime of nurture and care. The work of cell on cell, A complex structure evolving, Saluting this cold and sterile world With a triumphant wail. So tiny and frail, Suckles the breast Knowing nothing more than this Simple Giving and taking. The shaping of a wanton cry, Bridges to build laughter upon, This the connection of that first Maternal kiss, That first effervescent smile. Michael S. True 12-6-13
