GHOSTS song lyrics
by Christina Britton and Joel Sattler
The ghosts are restless in the night
they walk above my head
grandfather clock stands over me
I lie awake in bed
I hide beneath the covers
and I wish they were not dead
The cobwebs wrap around the hands
and they try to make it stop
the chimes have rusted
I don’t understand
I almost see the others
the floorboards groan and knock
and I’m all alone
once again
This home was once alive
but now a hollow shell
there’s no one left to crank and wind
I am caught just like a fly
trapped within a spell
as the cold pendulum
starts to keep time with my tell tale heart
The dusty toy soldiers
and Raggedy Annes
parade across the weathered floor
across the span of wasted years
count them one-by-one
as night gets darker
and they disappear
No more laughter or little voices
no more childhood secrets to unlock
London Bridge has fallen down
there’s no more time to play
as time itself tick tock tick tocks away
This house has been my temple
for oh far too long
each second ticks a moment gone
the years unwind until I reach
the ending of the hour
no turning back
as the ghosts come into power
The past hangs frozen on my bones
old pictures smile under the glass
all my loves have come and gone
I play ring-around-the-rosie
all alone
The dusty toy soldiers and Raggedy Annes
parade across the weathered floor
across the span of wasted years count them one-by-one
as night gets darker and they disappear
No more laughter or little voices
no more childhood secrets to unlock
London Bridge has fallen down
there’s no more time to play
as time itself tick tock tick tock tick tocks away
This home is full of nothing left
but ruin and decay
as the grandfather tick tocks away
time itself is echoing through the halls
I almost hear the call
of laughter of the children at their play…

Reviews of "GHOSTS song lyrics by Christina Britton and Joel Sattler"
Did I say "Lost Without You" was sad? This one has it beat for sadness. So nostalgic.....as many parents are, looking back and missing the old days with their growing children.
Grab those side-irons, saddle up and join former Civil War sharpshooter Luther Henry for a ride into pure terror, western-style…think ‘Wild Wild West’ meets ‘The X-Files’.
