THE POISON CHILD song lyrics
by Joel Sattler

the poison child sleeps under a rock
curled up in the sand like a snake
dreaming the dreams of a handless clock
to wake him would be a mistake

he killed his mother when he was born
he was thrown hard up on the wall
sentenced to spend fourteen years behind bars
in the walls of the juvenile hall

watch out for the poison child
poison blood and poison breath
beware of the poison child
whose very touch is death

but even the worst of us must be set free
and one day they dumped him outside
he stuck out his thumb and pulled out a plum
and went for a helluva ride

across 24 states from the east to the west
ending up in the angel city
the world failed him once the world failed the test
and now he would be without pity

watch out for the poison child
poison blood and poison breath
beware of the poison child
whose very touch is death

the waves whip over the barren beach
the bodies are eaten by eels
salvation itself is beyond reach
you can't hurt someone who cannot feel

the only thing left is the promise of night
the endless night without hope
electric chair or the needle of light
or the peace at the end of a rope

watch out for the poison child
poison blood and poison breath
beware of the poison child
whose very touch is death

Dies irae, dies illa
Solvet sęclum in favilla....

As tragic as it is, I really like this one. It smacks of a true story as well. The rhyming will help make a tune to fit it perfectly. Kudos
