THE BLACK DOG OF NEWGATE song lyrics
by Joel Sattler

there was a medieval professor
sent to prison for God knows what crime
"Done much hurt to the Kings subjects
with his Charms and Devilish Craft"

but the judge at the trial was wicked
and sentenced the Dean with a laugh
the inmates thought him a great warlock
and plucked out his evil eyes

And when he went down in the darkness
to join the most evil of men
the prisoners took him to the bottom
and never was he seen again

to save themselves from his last words
to save themselves from the worst
they ate him right down to the bones
and for that they are forever cursed

the Black Dog of Newgate is running
he hides in the shadows of walls
The Black Dog of Newgate is coming
waiting for midnight to fall

the Black Dog of Newgate appears
he of the bottomless stomach
the horror beyond all your fears
the hellhound of 400 years

there were those who tried to break out
it already was too late
the Black Dog has hunted them down
there is no way to escape

But there is a black stone at the prison
named Limbo by whom were insane
the only release from the nightmare
is to run it and smash out your brains

the Black Dog of Newgate is running
he hides in the shadows of walls
The Black Dog of Newgate is coming
waiting for midnight to fall

In the End: Apocalyptic Poetry by Debra Kraft

In the end they'll all be dancin'--all them ones that didn't die.... Dance with me in the shadows amidst the lightning and the thunder, and all that nu-cu-lar debris. See the big bang from the other side, and then open that cellar door. Go down into
