There will come a year
a year of defeat
a year to come when you can't hide
and you can't run
when the cannibals take over
and all of us are meat
the Crusaders word learned
before they burned
no matter how tough you think you are
you can eat anything if you get hungry enough
and when God cries billions die
a time will come without walls
the year of the cannibals
The wheels break down
the wheat turns brown
The Apples rot On unpicked trees
the smell of death is on the breeze
The Walking Dead were once our friends
And we shall never meet again
We are all to blame we are all insane
to think that God would never play this game
and even if you live through these times
you'll never be free of these crimes
the year of the cannibals
is coming to us all
no matter how you rise
some day you must fall
pride goeth before fall
and we are the proudest of them all
so crying is a waste of time
when we cross the finish line
we'll be cut down in our prime
when the cannibals come to call
Your lyrics have a sense of truth in them. Failed regimes threatening nuclear war. Climate change neglected by the very ones creating it. Human lifestyles eating the planet while growing population at an unprecedented rate. Dangerous chemicals and elements becoming pollutants and destroying water resources, crops, wildlife and entire ecosystems. Diseases running pandemic and defying vaccinations. All of these things could lead to an extreme shortage for survivors of food, leading eventually to cannibalism.
