riddles for a sleepy summer Sunday

i
acres of leaf,
strong scarlet stalks-
sour power!


ii.
pungent white root,
beneath emerald leaves-
equine fire



iii.
first shoots of spring-
verdant lances of nutrition
turn to summer fern.
