Two centuries ago almost every stream running into Lake Ontario had a salmon run -- Atlantic Salmon. Deforestation, overfishing and pollution wiped them out before the beginnig of the last century. Today's salmon, part of an extensive put and take fishery, are all Pacific spieces...
