then silent you must be
lest you spook your quarry,
forfeiting what you seek.
Should you go into silence
then silent you will struggle
to banish the need to speak
to hear yourself think
Should you go into silence
you will find your soul
or loose your mind if
into silence you should go.

in the hushed glen i heard the symphony
of all creation thundering
from a hundred thousand mouths
through the gentle land
a hundred thousand voices singing.
Glorias to the glories of the cosmos
then i spoke and all was quiet
quiet except for the voice of a fool

in the hurley-burley word of clamour/glamour
where noise covers a multitude of fears
and insecurities thought stopping racket
keeps the ambiguities at bay and the
boogie man under the bed

from the quieted depth of the heart
centred in silence and in passion
the poet chooses the mute words that
together will sing to the spheres
