Heartbreaking write; you are always in my prayers!
Past could either be foe or a friend. In your case it is haunting like an enemy. The only way out is to attack it right away. Self-expression, especially writing, is a remedy to many ills as the pen is the most powerful instrument a person can use to defeat an enemy. Just conquer it with truth, no matter how hard or bitter it may sound in the beginning. In the end it will turn out to be a sweet experience.
