When my sight set it's way
Upon the loveliness of your face
In our teens
Your smile was divine
Your beautiful almond eyes
I made mine
Your tender lips, taught me
The art of a lovely kiss
Though we were teens
That day you made my heart
Skip a beat
Every day I laid my eyes
Upon the sweetness, of the vision
That is you
Was like a rising sun
I felt my heart racing
Out of control
Butterflies and silvery snakes
Dwelled in my stomach
At the mere sight of you
You had become part of me
parting wasn't in our minds
Until that last day
I kissed you
When sad good-byes were said.

Four decades ago
I last saw a tear
Fall from your eyes
Relocation
Took you away from me
Eternally
Faith parted us
A Thousand Miles Away
I will never forget
That last day
I too shed a tear
Away from your sight
For in those days
A man wasn't supposed
To cry
We stayed in touch
Just a few years
Until another
Stole your heart
Away from me
Shortly you raised a family
Several years down the line
I too traveled that road
The Good Lord Blesses
Me now, each day.

Dreams of you, still torment
My heart and soul
Awakening
My most valed treasured
Memories
Of a love we shared
At such a tender age
I often wondered
If you still think of me
Or in your dreams
I could ever be?
This morning
I woke with a smile
I saw you in my dream
As we were then
Once again
You made the sun rise
Within my heart
And shadows disappear
You still dwell
In the chambers of my happiness
No one could ever steal
My dreams of you
Away from me.

Utterly exquisite beauty William in this remembrance of young love. We who are fortunate enough to have had it, hold it dear in our hearts for all time. You tell it so well!

Christmas blessings to you and yours,
Eileen

You really touched my heart with this beautiful offering William, I too remember my first love...then the years moved on I raised a family...then last spring at a class reunion, after many, many years we met again, now he is my last love...
I love it when that silver tongued devil D'Artagnan comes out....
Carole...love and peace

As one who also traveled that road, I, too, count my blessings now, but I guess we all sometimes dream of what might have been in our younger days, William.
