Silhouettes

I dreamed, of silhouettes,
On your window shade,
Embraced,
Tenderly kissing, one another.

Enraged thoughts,
Traveled, through my mind,
Not knowing,
who is holding you tonight?

Who is tasting, the nectars?
Of your sweet lips,
As those hands, hold you tightly,
By your soft lovely hips.

Will this be, the cross to bear?
For my future, those silhouettes,
I can't just walk away,
Without a care.

Is this a dream,
Or a nightmare?
Please, don't let it continue,
I just want, to scream.

To wake up, to be pinched,
To know, it's not reality,
Or did I see, "this scene",
On the silver screen?

Yet, I hear the sounds,
Of the night,
The croaking frogs,
The calling, of night birds,
Before, the morning light.

The wind, blowing on the trees,
They mock me not,
So what, can all this be?
But, the cross to bear, for me.

You saw something not knowing it is a silhouette or not, but maybe a dream yet to come true?

Jealousy is the dream of the sleeping virtue of Love, and letting go. Virtue is often a burden, but its weight need not be born alone. In writing this beautiful poem, you have reached out for help. I for one, having known jealousy, am with you.

The Heart's Way by Rebecca McKeehan

Love is universal and not limited to the most perfect among us. In this collection of romantic short stories and poetry, love comes to those who are decidedly imperfect, who possess very real human flaws, scars, and challenges. Awaiting us as we are.
