I can Remember,
When love was true ,
Our first teen date,
The notes, "with I love you,"
The innocence, in our hearts,
The pain, while apart,
Those giggly, phone calls,
Our first kiss, as I recall.
The stares, we gave each other,
The way we acted,
Like we couldn't, be bothered,
While walking with others.
How nervous, we were,
At our first dance,
When I, discovered jealousy,
At times, taking a stance.
The sparkles, in our eyes,
When we spend time alone,
Just hugging and kissing,
Not daring do wrong,
Moral teachings, were strongs,
We continued dancing,
To our slow moving song,
As our thoughts gathered,
We learned respect, for each other.
Never meant for the fast track,
After years of togetherness,
I often, remember your tenderness,
You are still,
The love I feel.
